Queen Anne

Tyler Engle Architects worked to preserve this historic home in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, Washington while updating the space to make it more livable.

Originally built in 1906, this house was deemed by the City of Seattle to be a significant example of the Queen Anne architectural style. It is with reverence for this history that we designed the restoration of the exterior, the interior renovation and a substantial addition for a new Chef’s Kitchen, expanded Dining Room and a Master suite above.

The interior spaces were reconfigured within the traditional vernacular while original Queen Anne details were returned after previous generation’s remodels. Our intent was to make the house function for a modern family while making every effort to make our interventions appear like they were original to the house.
