Purity of Thought Apartment
MARIA MIKENA INTERIORS worked with their clients to design a personality-inspired space named “Purity of Thought,” a thoughtful apartment for Moscow dwellers.
We started from scratch helping our client select a new property for purchase in Moscow. We launched the project from shell-and-core stage combining two adjacent units into a single 120 sq.m 3-bedroom apartment. With the client’s personality being our main source of inspiration we named this project “Purity of Thought”.
This inspiration transformed into pure lines, consonant with the Russian constructivist architecture and Luke Turner’s ideas on metamodernism.
We infused the space with understated romance of halftone colors, selected items of vintage furniture (e.g. Fresco dining chairs by Ib Kofod-Larsen for G-Plan) and works by the Russian contemporary artist Varya Schuka, while all the cabinetry, doors, door frames, skirting boards and partitions plus many furniture items were designed inhouse and artisan-made in Russia for this project.
