Chelsea Townhome
Tara Benet Design turned a multi-unit rental building into a single family home with five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two powder rooms, a playroom and an indoor pool in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
Included in the home is a 20′ x 20′ in-ground pool complete with porcelain slab walls by Florim and an LED light system that turns colors and a spa bathroom finished in Tadelakt plaster. One can gaze upon the pool from above through a skylight and garden.
Tara Benet Design used Wolf appliances, a mix of driftwood oak and white lacquer cabinets, Calacatta marble countertop and backsplash, private garden right outside via floor to ceiling glass sliding doors when realizing the kitchen design.
The living room has a linear gas fireplace with a facade of silver travertine slabs all rooms have floor to ceiling windows. Sofas are a cream and the room has copper and brass accents completing a homey look and feel for the townhouse.
The master bedroom has a marble clad gas fireplace with a private balcony overlooking the garden. Furniture in shades of grays with pops of pink accents make for a relaxing and calming space to retreat. The master bathroom has floor to ceiling glass windows, dolomite marble, a deep soaking tub by Victoria and Albert, and polished nickel fixtures by Franz Viegener and a Moooi Random Light. All the glass for the shower door is integrated into the walls and floors so there is very little hardware.
