Exuding a quiet strength of character, DROO designed the interiors of this West London townhouse to play with the chiaroscuro effect of light and shade to create spaces of meditative calm.
The rich tones of natural walnut wood have been used throughout the house in varying details, from the floors, the joinery and the majestic staircase with its forest of walnut battens through which the light seeps slowly.
Most contemporary interiors due to open plan living can be consumed in a singular sweeping glance. This home, reveals itself slowly as you move through it room by room, revealing layers of texture, complexity of space and the simplicity of light as you move up from the entrance hallway through light and intentionally dark spaces, all the way up to a sun-drenched loft.
